well know this is prob a million dollar question with a million different opinions but I am taking my son who is 14 to Texas on his first BOW hunt. he had a Mathews bow and is getting very good. We have it set at 50lb right now and will prob stay at that...we will be shooting Whitetails. In everyone's opinion what broad head should I get him...thanks in advance for your recommendations...

I would look at Magnus stingers

Stingers and G5 Montech are the ones I recommend most often for lower poundage bows. know several whitetails that were killed with an Infinite Edge bow set at 38lbs with 100gr G5 Montechs.

Slik trick magnums

I've had great success with Montec by G5, dad has had great success with slick tricks. I just like the reusable blade and toughness of Montec but his slick tricks are as sharp as can.

100 gr. G5 Strykers. When they were first introduced they were advertised as “Scary Sharp”. I’ve taken 3 Bull Elks and many whitetails with this head. @ 28’ draw length and 70 lb. pull.
My wife also uses this head and has killed several whitetails with her 50 lb. draw weight Bowtech Carbon Rose. She often gets pass throughs on behind the shoulder hits that strikes rib bones. You should get the same point of impact as field points if your bow is tuned correctly.

Can't go wrong with Slick Tricks! Shot good ole Thunder Heads for 15 years and never had any issues... Tried out the Slick Trick Mag this last year and was super impressed. I'll be shooting them again.

I shoot both Montec Stryker and G5. Pleased with both. Started out 30 years ago with Thunderhead 125s.

Started back in the day of wood arrows and recurve with 125gr Bear broadheads and bleeder blades or most of the time just the 2 blade head. Switched to compound nd then shot the old wasp 100 gr heads, yes the ones you could easily see the blades were cut from razor blades. Went from Wasp to Kolpin Modular heads for several years and those worked very well.

Shot lots of thunderheads, for the last 10 or 11 years it has been G5 Montechs without an issue. Now using 125gr Magnus Stingers but have made the switch back to Recurve for the fun of it.

Not sure what I will use on them but have some correct spine Deep 6 FMJs that I am thinking about refletching with feathers and tuning for the recurve. Might prove to be an interesting experiment.

If he shoots fixed blade broad heads be sure and align the blades with the fletching.
