I recently shipped a handgun to the manufacturer to correct a factory defect. Any idea how the manufacturer will choose a FFL when shipping it back, or will they ship to a FFL of my choice? Or perhaps, because I am the owner of record and they are the manufacturer, they can ship to me without the need for a FFL?
I could see where the need for FFL involvement might only apply to third parties beyond the owner and manufacturer, as would be the case for an owner shipping to another individual.
Thanks in advance.

You will need to let them know which FFL you want them to ship it to.

If you ship a firearm, including a handgun, to the original mfg for repair, and they are sending you the same firearm back, it can go direct to you without an FFL. If the mfg, for some reason, keeps that firearm and they send you a new firearm (which has a different serial #), then they will have to send it to an FFL. I have had this happen, personally, both situations.
