Does it have a hammer spur? Many that were sold and issued to LEO were to be used DAO. Also, what about grips? Original walnut grips are worth $50-100 depending on parties involved. I sold a 64 with 4" barrel, Safariland grips, very clean for $425 about a year ago. Hammer spur was intact, was originally issued by Houston PD. Don't know if this helps you? They are great all around bed side, truck, around ranch, camping guns. They are not sexy or exciting or CC desirable. 90% of my use was for camping purposes.
In todays market I am not sure if there is any market for a M64.

You might call Bud's, within the last 18 months they have shown M64 police trade ins for sale, ask Buds what price they sold them. Will they be getting any more?

These are GREAT GUNS !!! I screwed up: about 10 years ago I was at the Market Hall Gun Show and Bachman Pawn and Gun had about 5 of these which were Tucson Prison Guard "turn ins" The SS finish was "ok" but they were never shot, only to qualify. I bought one for around $350. Of course, not being able to leave anything alone, I had it coated OD Green and Black, this was back before Cerakote had taken off. I put some Crimson Trace grips on it. The dang gun shot like a rifle. It did have a hammer. I sold it for $400. The kicker and my "DOH" moment ???? IT HAD A 3" BARREL, very hard to find and very collectable. This goes along with my Colt Python of guns I wish I never sold.
