Around 500 would be a good starting point with bedding, chambering, threading muzzle will get you close, assuming its a custom action.

about all I can find is the Jewell or Bix N Andy trigger

everything else will have to be ordered, 8-9 months. Pierce, Borden or Defiance TI action, #2, 6.5, 1X8 twist Bartlien or similar, Mickey or Manners UL stock. Crap, forgot about Bottom metal, might have to go with a blind magazine for weight savings.

Barret Field craft, someone buy one and see if it shoot 3 in .50- .75

Around $1k

I have a quote for $1400 but that includes helical fluting, load development, cerakote, and threading for a brake

Alamo Precision quoted me $250 on a chamber, cut, and crown plus $150 for install and blueprint on a factory 700 action. Don't know if that helps.

After "shopping" last night (good thing I wasn't drunk), I found a Borden TI action only $1900.

So this morning with a clear head I'm thinking of going back to a factory gun. Clicked on a websites "notify me" when they get in a Barrett Fiedcraft bolt gun. Been reading some really good reviews on this new rifle. Might be just what I want under $2K.

If I do a custom the way I REALLY want it, It will be $4,000 in parts and another "G" to put it all together. Probably wouldn't even be ready for this coming deer season.

I already have $7,000 invested in my 6.5 McWhorter which is a fantastic gun....

So, you all might see some new additions to the Classifieds later today, as the beer begins to flow. But as of now, I'm cold sober, no hangover, starting around 5:00pm, keep ya'lls eyes back on this thread and the classifieds. muyloco

I'm gonna be around 4600-4700 into mine with the Borden Ti, other very top end parts, cerakote, load development, fluting, and all. A Lone Peak Ti no cerakote and no fluting or load development could significantly cut cost and still be top notch

How bout one of those skinny, short barreled 6.5 rifles those guys were shooting at the THF hunters match? Those were cool.

Or you could start lifting weights and change your definition of lightweight.

Those rifles were cool. I'd like to know what brand of brake they were using. Those were the smallest brakes I've seen.

No, it was the guys from S&S Rifles. I haven't heard much from their camp lately. He's probably busy trying to get rifles out the door.

When I was growing up I thought of custom rifles with names like Rigby or Holland & Holland or even a Griffin & Howe. Guess I am still in love with wood and engraving and fine deep bluing.
