As always, I tend to over research any purchases over $100 and have been wanting to pick up a 9mm Shield, but there are so many different options apparently.. ported vs. not ported, thumb safety vs. no safety, regular sights vs. the tritium night sights. I've pretty much settled on the non-ported, w/ safety, but still undecided on the sights.

Are the Tritium night sights similar to the Siglight night sights on the Sigs, where they are white, but will still glow in the dark? I have the Siglight sights on my Sig and love them. I'm not a fan of those true-glow type sights is why I ask.

I have Ameriglos on my Shield and really like them. They are pretty cheap too.

Happen to be packing my Shield today. These are factory night sights. Hope it helps!

It does, thanks!

How do they look in the dark? Kind of random I know, but my sig lays on my night stand at night and I can see it if/when I may need it.. even in the middle of the night. Not that I could see a person in the pitch black, but I can sure see my sights if I needed lol.

Not meaning I want it to light up like a Christmas tree, but more curious to if they can actually be seen in really low light. I prefer the white over colored dots in daylight. I'm just not a fan of the brighter greens, yellows, and orange sights like the true-glow or ameriglow, like Gwood posted.

I can see the glow of mine at on my nightstand across the room. The Ameriglo's come in white as well.
Here are the white 3 dots with the u-notch rear. They also have the square notch as well but I can't find it.

I have no trouble seeing my night sights in the dark. Very comforting to see the three dots on the nightstand...
