Don't know off the top of my head what years they were made but the earliest models had a hinged floor plate before they switched to a detachable mag.

Thanks for the information. Anyone know how to read the code on the barrel? Mine does have hinged floor plate.

According to the Remington serial lookup "C' is either 1982 or more recent 2009. Assume its not 1934 or 1956 which were also C serial numbers.........

Although the barrel code of KK would indicate a May 1990. You can email R.E.M. Customer service and they will tell you. Takes week or better for reply
