So my wife has fallen in love with her grandpas Weatherby. I'm glad she likes it, even if ammo is stupid expensive. But the trigger is 1982 technology and is terrible. Long and heavy.

What are my options here?

You have three options.

Take it to a reputable gunsmith and have him adjust the sear and hone a couple spots in the trigger group.

Buy a replacement spring from this guy and do it yourself. Plenty of online info on how to. www.erniethegunsmith.com

Buy a fully adjustable replacement from Timney and install.

I went with #1 and my Weatherbys are set at 2 lbs.
