I'm finally getting my LTC. I just need to do the fingerprints on Monday and submit the required files.
I'm not going to open carry. I only have a Glock 35 and I'm very proficient with that gun. I'm not a big guy (5.7" 170 lbs). Do you think I could manage to conceal carry a Glock 35 or should I go with a smaller gun (I'm thinking a Glock 26)?
I would greatly appreciate hearing your opinions. Also, if you could recommend a holster, that would be awesome.

I'd go with something smaller. I personally carry a G26 in a Stealth Gear USA IWB. Awesome combo.

Even a G19 is pretty easy and comfortable to conceal. No sense in learning a new system when you are already confident with Glock.

Keep it for a competition gun and buy another.

If you're proficient with it, try it.. None of us can tell you what's going to be comfortable for you to carry..
I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.

Pretty good size gun to carry but given You don't have to fully conceal it could work. I'd personally find something smaller.

I have a G35 as my comp and house gun. It's a larger pistol, and would be a little big for CCW. But can you carry it, sure! I'd lean to something like a G23 for a little smaller carry pistol. If you get a Kydex type holster that retains at the trigger guard, you can use the same holster for the G35 and G23. I do this with my G29, G20, and G21 pistols with the same holster (10mm and 45 pistols). I use this holster below for all 3 pistols, and it works great! http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/Product/SuperTuck-Deluxe

I always carry my gun on my person. Never know when it might get ripped off your shoulder and then you have a lost fire arm.

I carry a Sig P226 with tac light and extended mag, it's big, but it's what I carry for work so it transfers into my new FFR Holster for CC duty.

I'm thinking of getting the White Hat MicroTuck Hybrid IWB Holster in horsehide and carry the G35 (I'm hesitating between the Gonzales and the Texas Flag ) http://www.whitehatholsters.com/microtuck-hybrid-iwb-holster/If the G35 ends up being too big, I'll get a G19 and use the same holster (the Kydex is the same from G19 to G35). It might even work for a G26 (I could always order just the kydex for the G26). In addition to the above hoslter, I'm also thinking of purchasing the Pt one holster. It seems be suitable for the G35 and also seems to be nice for vacation with beach clothing http://www.pistolwear.com/pt-one-concealment-holster/

I got the G26 for EDC. It's a sweet gun. My carry ammo will be the Speer Gold Dot +P 124-grain. Here's the interesting part... With that ammo, I find the recoil way more snappy than my Glock 35 with the Critical duty. Please note that the G35 will be that snappy with Federal 155 HST.
BTW this is the holster I ordered....The wait will be long. MicroTuck Hybrid IWB Holster (Choose Your Leather: Black "Gator" Horsehide, Choose Kydex Color: Gonzales Flag, Gun Model: Glock 26, 27, 28, 33, Orientation Options: Right Handed, Choose Your Clips: Injection Molded Nylon Clips 1.5 inch, Screw Finish Option: Black, Laser/Light Options: None, Extra Set of Clips: ---NONE---)

The +P means plus pressure, so it's a hotter load pushing the bullet faster. More pressure and faster speeds = more recoil. Plus a little and light gun.
I'd go with a plain horsehide, it's a softer leather. I went horsehide on my Cross breed, and I like it a lot. COlor is up to you, but I wouldn't get any of the alligator looking leather, or anything that will have a texture on the outside of the leather to rub or wear out on the pistol. Get something with a smooth leather. I'd also go with the steel clips. Nylon can break, and the steel has a stronger hold. I wear a 1.5" gun belt, so mine are 1.5".

Personally, I like the desantis softuck holster. I know some people don't like them at all, but for the price, it's worth a try. I have tried 5 different holsters for CC, and that one is my favorite.

Good catch with the texturing leather causing more wear on the gun. I'll get in the touch with them and might change it. But I'm keeping the nylon clips. It's a perfect fit for the 1.5" belt and it won't scratch the leather in the car.
I looked up the Desantis softuck holster. It's pretty versatile and I like it. I'm probably going to order one. My main holster won't be shipped anytime soon, so the Desantis can be a good option.

Just got the white hat holster. Looks and feels really nice. The pic shows my Glock 26, but I can also pretty easily conceal my Glock 35. BTW, regarding the additional wear from the textured leather, Tony (the owner) wrote me “the Gator texture is an embossed cowhide and is as soft as the normal leather would be and will offer the same resistance as normal flat leather as well. I would not expect it to wear any more than normal for you” Also got the Desantis softuck holster.

Carrying a full size pistol IWB is difficult for most.I chose a single stack as do a lot of people. Good luck they guys i know that cc didnt get the right pistol holster combo on the first try.

Tell you what....The Desantis Softuckis has become my favorite holster too. Now that I've started carrying, I've noticed that the most comfortable position to carry the G26 is at 3 o'clock. That fancy white hat holster just pinches too much.

I would say pick up a Glock 26 so that the same ammo is the same as well as the same trigger pull, etc. Keep it simple. I would use an inside the waistband Kusiak Leather holster, thin and comfortable. A G35 will be a little large to conceal effectively and probably a bit uncomfortable after a while.

I just bought a Kahr CM9 and a Galco IWB holster to carry at 3 o’clock position. I put around 200 rounds through the gun and it’s reliable. I’m just starting to understand the CCW rotation concept. I think all my 3 pistols (G35, G26 with night sights, Kahr CM9) will end up having a dedicated role.

I Haven't read through all the replies but with open carry no reason to buy a smaller gun. If you don't want it to show just pull your shirt over it. So what if it prints?

If the +P is too snappy, try Hornady Critical Defense +P. It is a different powered makeup that has no more felt recoil than any other regular 9mm. Our agency has switched to the Hornady Critical Duty +P+ for 9mm, making it just as fast and potent as the Hornady Critical Duty 357sig
