I stopped in a local pawn shop and on their rifle rack was a Poly Tech M14/S, very low serial number and imported by KFS Atlanta Ga. Looks brand new, barrel was a little dirty but cleaned up nice and shiny with my bore snake after a few runs. Haven't gotten to the range yet but I did pick up some Federal 762x51 ammo. Since they haven't imported any from China in a while except to Canada, I'm looking forward to getting it to the range. Fired one a few times in Basic then got issued an M-16. I've read all the negative stuff on the internet, but no one has anything bad to say about their early imports. Anyway I'll post a range report when I get a chance to go, dang work keeps getting in the way of all my fun.

They are well-built. Are you saying this one is marked on the heel that's an early one. There are a few metric parts like the flash hider and you'll hear a lot about having to "change the bolt for GI" but a lot of that came from people that changed bolts for a living. Some of the wood is pretty funky, I've got a friend with a quite a few GI stocks if you want to go that route.

Yes it's stamped on the heel.
Poly Tech M-14/S 762x51 NATO 013XX
Stock looks brand new except for the fiberglass top cover. I mean there are very little wear marks on the rifle anywhere, maybe 1 or 2 small dings on the stock and nothing on the metal. When I inspected the rifle to clean it there were a couple of small rust spots that cleaned right up by wiping it down with some Rem-oil. Be glad when I can go to the range with this baby.

The M1A/M14 rifles are absolutely the funnest plinking gun on the planet. No kick and puts out some serious horsepower. M14forum.com is loaded with as much info as you can find and just a few questions on that board will be received with a lot of knowledge from a variety of experts.
Love that weapon!!!
GO TRUMP!
