Just bought one. Sig 556 in 5.56. It's a hybrid AK/AR. I've shot throughout my life, so I'm not a novice. But I am on this platform. So I thought I'd do this right and not have to break bad habits. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks all.

Shoot the hell out of it is all I have to offer.. what bad habits are you worried about?

The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

My thoughts on poor habits relate to such a light caliber and accuracy w same. Maybe just concerned for nada. Just a little over the shoulder wisdom.

If your talking about handling the new rifle for break in, I wouldn't get to caught up in long break in procedures. The Sig has a Nitride coated barrel. To be on the safe side, shoot a box then clean. Do that a few times to remove excess copper and you should be good to go. Lube properly and away you go.

About all I can offer you is this: have a good solid stance if you plan on shooting multiple rounds in succession quickly. A bad stance will lead to poor shots.

That's about all I got with this platform...one of the easier guns to shoot and have fun with
