Guys and gals I sincerely hope yall NEVER have to deal with Brownings customer service! I have been trying to get parts from them since early February because of the issues they are having with the Dura Touch stocks and the incompetence is epic to say the least.

Somehow they have it in their computer that I have a 10 gauge even though I never told them that and even gave them the serial number so they know everything there is to know about the gun. They even told me when it was made without me asking. LOL!

Then I was told I would have the parts in a week or so. They never showed up. Called and was told they were on back order because they didn't have ones to fit the 10 gauge. Once again I never told them it was a 10 gauge so I told them to correct it in the computer. He also told me they sent me a rear stock. I never saw it. LOL This was a month ago.

Today out of the clear blue a rear stock shows up with a recent shipping date and they STILL have me in the computer for a 10 gauge forearm on back order based on the packing sheet. GEEEZZZ!!! Must have tried calling the parts counter 100 times and a recording tells me their people are busy and to try again later. Cant even leave a message for the parts counter to get this corrected AGAIN before they send me the wrong stock. I did leave a message at the returns desk since it was the only place I could find to leave a message but I have little hope that the message will find the right person.

If any of you guys have any direct numbers to a real person at Browning that might be able to help please send it to me.

Thanks!

Be careful complaining about bad customer service. Many people will tell you how wrong you are.

Sorry to hear that buddy.

For some reason I have never been attracted to Brownings - except for a little BL-22 I bought that I love. Hope it works out for you.

Sad part is I was really impressed with Browning when I called them the first time in early February. Thought for sure I was going to have a uphill battle on my hands but they didn't give me any problems at all because they were well aware of the issues customers were having with the Dura Touch finish and were going to do their best to make it right. Its been downhill ever since with them. Now I cant even be put on hold for 30 minutes until their next "Agent" is available.

By the way I have the extensions memorized by heart now. When you call just press 3, then 3 again, then 2. That will take you to the parts counter where all the "Agents" are busy and the polite man on the recording tells you to call back later.

Ive only dealt with them once and it went really smoothly. That was a few years ago so maybe they've gone downhill.

I bought a Browning Safe, and it has a stamped steel tag with a serial number. When I tried to register it on their website, the website tells me it is an invalid serial number. Tried calling a real human to register my safe and when I finally spoke to someone they said I had to register it online. Are you kidding me, I just told them the story about how the online registration didn't work.

Hate to hear that but if you want to see what BAD customer service is just try Beretta. I only had one experience with Browning and I cracked the wood stock on my Abolt. They replaced it for free even thought I told them it was my fault. It wasn't as pretty as the one I cracked but it was still free.

Guy named Joe answered the phone and I told him my issue and he gave me another number for customer service but guess what......they close at 3pm so another day and still the same problems. I don't know if I should laugh or cry. hammer

It would be interesting to hear Browning's side of this story.

Looks like I got it all squared away today and I should receive the correct forearm sometime in June. For what ever reason their computer shows that I am due a 12 gauge forearm but the packing slip I received clearly shows I am due a 10 gauge forearm. Even he couldn't explain that one. Anyway it will be interesting to see what forearm shows up.

If anyone needs a different number for customer service than the one I posted above then send me a PM and I will give it to you with the correct extension. Based on some of the online reviews I have been reading I am not the only one that thinks their automated system needs a overhaul.

I bought an expensive Browning flashlight about 30 years ago. It came without an o-ring to keep it waterproof. I called every number possible to reach a Browning person. Finally got one after many hours into the second day. Told her I needed the o-ring. She said return it in original packing and they'd send a new one. I said that would cost us both money. No, had to go by policy. I've never bought another Browning anything and never will. I can see they haven't changed in 30 years. Sad......

I have a browning shotgun that needed to have the barrel replaced. Was duck hunting and a wad got stuck In The barrel and bulged. I called them they said they would only charge me half price on a new barrel. I also have dura touch on another shotgun and it is pealing when I called them on it they said they had a run that was doing that. All in all I am pleased, sorry to hear about your experience. I got my stuff fixed as I took it to the store I bought it from and they helped me out. Give that a try.

My Dura Touch is getting extremely sticky. It has never had any cleaning solvents, oil, etc. on it either. Did some research online and found plenty of other people having the same issues that's why they no longer make it.

As long as the right forearm shows up then I will be happy with the way they handled it even though the stocks will not match the gun. I think I can rattle can the stocks and get pretty darn close though. I am the Picasso of spray paint! grin

Several years ago I had an issue with CTD but they cleared it up on the second call and they paid for postage, etc. That is really some abuse you had to suffer with Browning. One of my problems has always been that I do not have a quiet place or good enough service to complete all the phone prompts.

***************************UPDATE******************************

Well June has come and gone and no sign of my fore end. Called today and they say they still don't have any in stock and no expectations as when they will arrive now. My first call to them was in early February so its now been over 5 months.

Wonder if there are any shortages of new BPS shotguns since there is no supply of stocks for them. hammer

I would just see what Boyds has for that model.

You might also check out the auction sites, for an original fore-end.

I will have a set of stocks by October one way or another even if I have to purchase a used set. I would rather get the stocks from Browning since its at their cost due to a factory defect but if I have to buy some on my own I will.

Currently I am waiting on customer service from another gun maker. - I shipped my gun off yesterday, and don't have a clue as to when I will see it next.

Has Browning suggested that you ship in your shotgun?

I suggested Boyds because the prices are good there, and one of their fore-ends would get you back in business while waiting for Browning to fix you up.

I've only worked with Browning customer service one time. After two calls I got the information that I was looking for. I had to take an 1885 apart, and was looking for an exploded drawing, with parts list. The Miroku 1885 is not for the faint of heart, it is much more complex than an original 1885.

I'm not sure that I would want another dura-touch fore-arm, or stock. Since they have discontinued them, that would explain them not having it in stock. In the long run, you may be better off seeing if you can send it in.
