I'm completing a 7.62x39 assembly soon and neglected to order a charging handle assembly.

What are the differences in charging handles except for the latch/how it latches? I am seeing prices all over the place.

Power Custom - $70
Bravo - $45
Troy - $88
DPMS and others - $15-$20

Thanks.

For a specific rifle, they should all be about the same. Get whatever latching mechanism suits your fancy, or your wallet. The only other difference would be a "gas buster" type of CH designed to keep blow back gasses out of your face. None of the ones you listed are of that design though.

No idea on the differences, but the BCM is great. For whatever reason I like to charge the rifle with my right hand, which is my trigger hand, so the BCM gunfighter works well for me

When I carried one the regular charging handle worked fine. On my last build I went with the BCM just for something different and to try it out. Already ordered another one to swap out one on another rifle.

I had a large BCM gunfighter on a build a couple years back, and loved it.

BCM's are good solid handles. With scope mounted the larger latch make operation easier. You can also buy just the replacement latch in a few different designs and for less money. All you need is a roll pin punch and light hammer, easy peasy done.

Took it out shot fine, but purpose was to test fit and function. It was superb, wind came up bad and temp dropped so no sighting in. Dismantled and having it cerakoted. When I get it back I'll have pic's and range report, if weather is good.
