I am looking at getting a small revolver, would be for travel, nightstand, and trail use. Would like opinions on the LCRx versus the SP 101 in both 2 and 3 inch barrels. Thank you.

SP101. The things are built like a tank and if you ever run out of bullets, you could use it as a club to beat the person to death.
Thanks, Rich

If you want a light weight pistol that's easy to carry I'd go with the LCR. I carried one for a year and it's to conceal.

I have an sp101. I had to have the trigger adjusted but once that was done it is perfect... Very accurate and built like a brick shithouse

For carry, I'd go with a LCR. If I was going to get something as heavy as a SP101, I'd get a GP100,

don't bother with the 3". I had a 3" SP101 and it didn't shoot any better than my LCR. (the whole 1" additional sighting plane argument). I've had both a SP101 and a LCR. I kept the LCR. Both are nice revolvers. The LCR was the better carry option in my opinion. For what it is, the SP101 is heavy.

I have a LCR in .38, and a SP101 w/ 2.25" barrel in .357 Mag. I bought the LCR before it was offered in .357, or I would have bought the LCR in .357. I like them both. If I could only have one, it would be my SP101. The extra weight in the SP helps with .357 Mag. If I was never going to shoot .357 Mag, I would get the lighter LCR.

The SP series is extremely well built. I regret letting mine go. If you're not wanting an all day every day pocket pistol, I'd choose the SP hands down.
