ATFE has a big office in Downtown Tyler. Go knock on the door and ask questions. You just might find that you know several of the folks there.

No CLEO sign off is a win for those not wanting to do a trust.

That part did not change. An individual applying for a NFA stamp still has to have CLEO sign off. This only applies to trust or corporations.

Wrong. It now requires "notification" not approval. They can no longer deny the application

And notification can be as simple as a certified mail receipt, similar to what people with C&R licenses have done, if I'm not mistaken. That isn't a huge issue.

The big issue, in my mind, is the requirement for fingerprints and photos for all trust members. It's a pain in my [censored], and puts it on par with just submitting individually anyway.

This is what I'm wondering??? I would LIKE to do this... If they make filling individually more attractive I might do that...

what TICKS me off is that this is the way the LEO sign off was supposed to work TO BEGIN WITH... They basically acknowledge that YES you have one, ok we have it on the record... and that's it...

If it goes into effect, it will do so next spring or summer, if I understand correctly. Does anyone have more accurate information about that?

There is good reason to believe that it may not go into effect at all, or perhaps briefly before being shot down in federal court.

At this point it is an interesting topic for discussion, and that is as far as it goes.

Kind regards, charlesb

I heard it will not go into action for six months to allow all current applications to clear
