The new 700 is getting a new stock. I'm almost dead set on the magpul 700 hunter stock. Price is fine at $249 and I love that I can drop in a magwell that takes AICS mags, and it comes with a 6 rounder for $70 and drops right in in minutes. Other option is the stockys composite stock for $199. Aluminum bedding block like the magpul. But would cost quite a bit more to have detachable mags added. And it doesn't have quite as cool of a look.

There aren't many reviews of the stockya composite stock, but I've only heard positives about the magpul. Like I said, I'm almost sold on the magpul, but wanna know my options.

Here's a link to the Stockys.Stockys long range composite

I ran across the Stocky's on when I was trying to look for a proof research barrel the other day. I thought about buying one of those stocks just to check it out. From the description it looks like its made out of the same stuff that the choate stuff is made out of.

Ahh OK. I had a choate ultimate varmint on my Savage, and it was freaking heavy. Solid built, and had an aluminum bedding block, but just way too heavy for a hunting rifle.

Don't forget the Stocky's Textured for $219:

Then there was the B&C Tactical Medalist Style 2 that was $249 that they bumped up to $269:

I'm thinking about an upgraded stock for my 700 Tac. as well.

Yep. Actually found a medalist with bottom metal and AI 10 rd mag today in my budget. So I'm picking it up Saturday.
