Hey Folks.... anyone own or know someone that owns a remington 7600 pump rifle? Looking for pros and cons... I don't like bolt Actions real well and semi Autos have to be restricted to two rounds. I have a BLR that I like real well, but it't just too nice to take out in nasty weather... Found an offer for a new 7600 30.06 in the black synthetic that would be practical. just no experience with them and don't want to get something that I won't like... Any/all tips appreciated..

Dave

I don't have one, but from what I understand they're supposed to be reliable. Just don't expect great accuracy.

The rifle has a reputation for being very accurate and reliable; far more so than the Remington autoloaders. The only major criticism that I've heard is that the new aluminum magazines are nowhere near as good as the older steel magazines. You may need to bend/alter the magazine lips on the aluminum models to make feeding reliable.

Shot a mulie in the neck at 200 yds with a 760 pump 243 this week. It was a hand me down rifle from my grandpa and first time I'd shot anything with it. It was the only rifle I had here big enough for mule deer and so it got used, worked perfect.
