Well I did a boo boo today. A co worker was showing me his newly acquired 11-87. It has real blued metal on the action and barrel. Well long story short I was showing him where the plug goes etc and I dropped the receiver on the ground (concrete).
So now I have to make it right and get it back in cosmetic greatness as it was.
Who and where does this with good experience?
I'm in north Texas and will ship to make it right.

You might try Matt Brant at The Berreta Gallery in Dallas. He is very good at everything. Not sure his lead time

Buy him a new shotgun and decide what you are going to do with your new scratched gun.

You might be able to buy a new receiver from Remington cheaper than having it fixed and blued. Or just buy a new shotgun and trade him.

Colt's suggestion is actually greatness. Replace the guy's shotgun with a new one, then take the old one and refinish it. There are some pretty darned decent spray on finishes out there. And your justification for acquiring the new shotgun becomes "I felt so bad, and was the right thing to do."

The problem is the receiver won't match the barrel. I'll have to do both.
Maybe cerokote

Call Remington and find out about having them do it 800-243-9700. At one time they could make them appear new by running them through the same finishing process like a new one.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

TDK does cold bluing and does a killer job.
Cerokote would be a good option if your buddy isn't married to blued stuff.

Might be just me, but I would think that he bought a blued finish firearm, he probably wants a blued finish firearm.
