What gun do you just want but really have no real need for?
I want a Remington 1909 Model 12 with the 24" octagon barrel. I've got several 22 rifles but for some reason I just want one of these. When I find the right one it will probably come home with me.

AR15 or AR10. Don't need it, don't have hogs, rarely get to varmint hunt anymore, and bow hunt more than I use a rifle...but still want one.

hk mp5 with a happy switch. Have always wanted one and it would be awesome. But really have no need for one then to make me smile...

Have no need for it at all... but I'd love to have one of those full auto "Tommy Guns" like the gangsters used back in the day. I'd only want to own it for a day...then pass it on to someone else. But for that ONE DAY...sure would be fun.

Ruger #1 Tropical in .458 Win. Over the years I have gotten close to buying one several times, and they were at a good price too, but the lack of need got in the way! It seems that after buying a box or two of shells at $100 a pop & then touching off a few, the original buyers were highly motivated to sell! Now you can hardly find one much under the $1K mark. The beauty, heft & feel of the #1 tropical is something to try - an awesome rifle! I have a #1 in .45-70 which I have really enjoyed developing & shooting cast bullet loads in. Now I'd like to do the same with the .458 Win. Without pachyderms or buff's invading the garden, spending a grand on the rifle is not in my future.

Also a Kimber or Colt 1911. No use for it and I'm not going to drop $1k on something that I have absolutely no use for. But I would like one.

I will go with Walter, REALLY want a HK MP5. Had one in my hands a few years back that was "owned" by a small police dept. We were building them a prototype 9mm SBR to replace their "old" MP5s. AFTER we had it running, and ready for them to test. We got a call that the MP5s were NOT transferable, AND no avaliable budget for the 15 SBRs they wanted!
So unless I hit the LOTTO, it's not going to happen.

Rented one for a half hour for my birthday several years ago at an indoor range in Dallas.. Lord, that was fun!

Delta Elite

An AR in .458 SOCOM

An AR in 7mm-08

A vintage bolt-action in 6mm Remington

Colt Woodsman Sport, Second Issue

Ruger Flat Top single-actions, old models

Ruger commemorative flat top in .41 Mag

just about any Freedom Arms single-action

a Kimber 82C

a Remington 547

Remington 1100s in 12 and 20

some 16 gauges

revolvers in .327 Federal

a Model 70 in .375 Ouch & Ouch

a Model 70 in .264 Win Mag

something in .225 Winchester (just to be different)

one a lot of the older S&W Model 17s

a S&W Model 28 like the one I used to have

a few Colt SAAs

oddball stuff like the H&R 317 Ultra Wildcat in .222 Rem (it had a Sako action and had what was similar to be a Micro-Groove barrel, and they would SHOOT)

Above all, I'd like to have enough time to enjoy owning all that stuff. As it is, I'd like to have the time to enjoy what I have already, so I'll be happy and satisfied to do and have just that much.

I'll second the HK MP5. I got to shoot one for an afternoon and the 3 shot burst makes me very happy.
