Has anyone actually had any experience with the CZ557 carbine? I am seriously thinking about one in 30-06. Never shot or even held a CZ but most reports I have seen say they are good rifles. What is your opinion?

I have a Cz550 in 7x57 mauser I absolutely love it.
It shoot 1\2 moa groups. The two stage trigger is great!

I had one in 7.62x39. By all accounts, it was an absolutely excellent rifle. The set-trigger is quite crisp.

The ONLY reason I do not have it now is that I shoot southpaw and got tired of chasing the bolt handle around the action.

SORRY for the improper post. I somehow read 527 carbine. NOT the same rifle.

Understand that the 557 is very different than the 550, the 550 is an improved Mauser action, the 557 is a push feed action. I personally don't like the stock ergonomics on the 557 compared to the 550 both of which I've only handled in a store.

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype
