Which would you get? Purpose is hunting pigs and killing steel at 700 yards or more. I handload and run suppressed.

260 Remington. Not among your choices, but would shine in that scenario.
Cast I have a short attention spa

When surplus milspec ammo was widely available; this was an easy answer.
Considering the cost of ammunition; anyone considering an autoloader should also be considering reloading. If that is situation; why limit oneself to just .308?
I would look into both 260 Rem and 7mm/08

Loading 160 grain + bullets at 2.8 inches in a 7mm-08 will loose some of its benefits. ar10 mags just don't allow enough coal to be worth the trouble. You can make it work, but why bother?

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

7mm, I just sold a AR10 in 308. Would love to get one in a 7mm to match my bolt guns.

7mm creedmoor would be an easier solution at 2.8 inches.

If you shoot only factory ammo -- .308.
If you reload, definitely 7-08. Much better bullet BC and therefore less drift and drop at distance within AR mag box length limitations.

That's a hard choice, really. Sure, the 7-08 has the higher BC bullets with good speeds, but you will not be able to use them at AR10 mag lengths. So, what's the better choice? That's the hard part. I have George's first ever GAP-10 in 308 he ever made, and it's hard to beat a good 308. If it were a bolt gun choice, it's an easy pick of 7-08. But in an AR-10, I'll take the 308.

there is only one real AR10, made by ARmalite and they are in .308, (7.62 x 51), all others are built on the AR10 frame. AR is Armalite

I'd love to have an AR in 7mm-08.
