So guys,

I have a post in the optics section about scoping my .22 and it got me to wondering what kind of .22 you guys have? What do you think of your .22? Is it just a cheap one that allows you to plink? Is it a "pretty" good one that is fairly accurate or really accurate? Is it a competition .22? What's the motivation behind your .22?

Mine are:

CZ 452 - it is a very accurate rifle and a lot of fun to shoot. If I was to go squirrel hunting this would be the one I'd take.

Weatherby semi auto - it's a relatively accurate rifle and although fun it's just not the shooter my CZ is.

And then I have my old $25 bolt .22 that I restored. I love this one because I got it so cheap and also because it's the only gun I have restored. As for accuracy...it'll shoot pretty good.

Mine are old. A Winchester model 63 and a model 67. These were both inherited and not shot very much. I did pick up a Heritage Rough Rider a few years ago with the 22Mag cylinder that stays with the fishing tackle for dispatching snakes and turtles.

I have a Ruger 10/22 that I got for my 16th birthday, that was in 1982. Got many cottontails and turkeys with it over the years, still with the factory iron sites too.

10/22 carbine 18" barrel with Nikon 3x9
10/22 stainless rifle 22" barrel w/ Nikon 3x9
Henry Lever action open sights

the rugers are pretty accurate to 100 yds (2-3" groups)
the Henry is by far the most fun to plink with, load it up with shorts & shoot shotgun hulls at 25 yds all day long

I love .22's, have 2 old Mossbergs, one a bolt and one a semi that both are very accurate, have a winchester, a S&W 15-22,and several revolvers and pistols.

Savage FV-SR (bolt action) with a Boyds stock and a Mueller scope.
Accurate for long range. And the bolt means really quiet suppressed shooting.

Have 2 10/22's one 1980's plain jane and a stainless short barrel. My kids lug these 2 around.

Also 2 in .22WMR, a Marlin 883SS and a Ruger American short barrel. All are good shooters.

Have plans on a RAR in .22LR.

I have a Marlin model 60 that belonged to my father. It has a Leupold 2-7 rimfire scope and is very accurate.

Recently I went over the stock and metalwork with Renaissance polish and now it looks better than new.

Beautiful gun, lots of fun to shoot.

I almost bought a Winchester 1885 in 22 lr at the last gun show, but this one had a matte finish on the metal, so I passed on that. If it had been gloss, it would have gone home with me.

Probably the classiest 22 available today is the 1885 low wall falling block from Winchester. Pricey - but well worth every penny.

1885 Low Wall, 22lr

Stevens from my Grandfather. Bolt action with no model number and I can't find a serial number. Great shooter. Must be close to 100 years old.

I've got a marlin 780 that was my great grandfathers. I don't actually know how old it is. Not sure when he bought it. I love it. Very accurate.

I also have a mag tech 7022 (exact same as a mossberg plinkster 702) and it is complete garbage.
