Any ideas on the value of a used black R1 enhanced in very nice condition? Are there any glaring things wrong with the design or functionality?

Probably somewhere in the $700 range. It's a 1911. It's perfect.

A new one is around 9-1000 range. So TC has it right about 700ish. I would even go as high as 750-800 depending on condition. Great guns they are!

It's a 1911. It's perfect. i asked because I read it doesn't have a full length guide rod-does that really matter? Their price was $599 but I think I can get it for less.

You can always add a full length rod if you want one. They are not necessary as long as your gun runs fine without one (it probably will).
