Can I just add a reduced firing pin spring to reduce the trigger pull? Will this make the gun have problems with certain ammo not hitting the primer hard enough? Would this work to give me a lighter then stock trigger pull?? Pros and cons??

I had a similar issue on a 10 year old, heavily used Model 21 (Gen 3). I replaced all of the internal springs, including the recoil spring. I also installed a Ghost 3.5lb trigger and Wolff competition spring kit. It's much better than stock.

Having carried nothing but Glock since 1985 I just don't do anything to them. I don't have any issues with the trigger because the first shot is the only one where I feel any weight and I shoot with a New York trigger. I have shot some with the 3.5 and that might be what you want to do. The weapon I carry is also to the one I depend on at work if I need it. If you are just messing around and want to see what different components might do then fine. If your life may depend on it, then leave it as it is. I don't just carry one, I train with it and am one of the officers that Glock sent to their advance armorers course. If I can help just let me know.

Sounds good this is a defensive gun just wondering if dependability would be an issue if I just changed that spring. It's saying it would drop the pull a pound but if it could lose dependability I won't do it.

Do you have any idea which connector you have on it now? If it is an 8 then drop to a 5. Messing with something that was designed as a combat weapon, not a precision weapon, might or might not do anything. As I used to say to my officers, "It's only your life". If you haven't learned to 'stage' or 'set' the trigger you might try it. That will help.

You can change the just the trigger bar, trigger spring, and firing pin safety spring without going to a lighter striker spring and it will improve the trigger pull some. Where ignition reliability is a concern as in a carry or duty weapon, I wouldn't change the striker spring.

The entire gun is stock. I use the gun for carry, home defense, but mostly for carrying around the land when I'm down their working. I'm just wondering what is the cheapest way to reduce the pull weight without jeopardizing reliability. I shoot good with it as it is just curious to a good way to make it alittle lighter. If it changes all the dynamics I'll just leave it stock.

Changes I did to mine made it more reliable. It is a daily carry weapon.

I just put a 3.5 lb connector in mine. It was $12 part and a five minute install. It did lighten the pull by about a lb but it also made the trigger a bit less crisp. I'm not sure I like it yet but for $12 it was worth a try. Hope thus helps.

I had a zev v4 connector and competition spring kit in mine and it helped a lot. I ended up keeping the stock striker spring, as I had issues with misfires while using the lighter spring.

Just drop to the 3.5# connector. I think you will be surprised at the improvement. I recommend to get a glock factory connector if you can find it. They cost more than the aftermarket ones. I have tried both and the factory 3.5# connector feels better. Smooth,crisp, and somewhat lighter.

Also, like Tactical Cowboy said, I would not change the striker spring.a lighter striker spring can cause light primer strikes. I bought a spring kit for my XDS 45, & the trigger pull was lighter with new striker spring, however I had several light primer strikes. Put the factory one back in.

Or you can just polish all the stock parts with flitz. Pretty much free if you already have it laying around the house.

The disconnecter is a stamped peice of metal that will have a very small ridge to it. Smooth that out and polish it and you'll feel a big difference if you have any polishing stones too

I did keep the aftermarket trigger return spring and safety plunger spring in it.

I spend much more time behind a rifle than I do a pistol, but I don't change a damn thing on my pistol triggers. Just a little trigger time and I can get good enough with any of them.
