Would appreciate any real world opinions of these pistols listed in .45 The only way I can work on obtaining a great concealed carry is layaway. Please let me know what you have, what you've used and had the best luck and what was the most accurate.

I'm 5' 10" and 275 pounds so yes losing weight is a good start but it needs to be able to be concealed easily on a fat guy for now. Medium sized hands.

A lot to ask I know but you guys are the one's who know, I appreciate all the feedback.

I had a Kimber CDP II 5" a few years ago and loved it. It was beautiful and shot very well. I now have a Ruger SR1911 and find it to be just as beautiful and shoot just as well. For half the price.

All that said, I have a Glock 42 in .380 that I find myself carrying more and more. It fits in my front pocket in a DeSantis holster just fine. Yes, it is a .380 with 6+1 rounds, but I feel confident it would diffuse any circumstance I found myself in.

Good luck. You have lots of choices.

Rick

If you want to carry a single action I highly recomend a Sig P238 or P938. 1911s are not easy to conceal even in the ultra compact size. The 238s and 938s are basically baby 1911s they are very easy to carry and really fun to shoot.

I have the Kimber CDP II in the 4 inch. I like the looks and feel, but don't enjoy shooting it mainly because I like double stack mags for the wider grip. It may be for sale soon

Edit: the gun shoots and works great, very smooth, great trigger, just not my up of tea

Find you a good older used Kimber Ultra Carry II. They shoot great and the price should be decent. At or less than $750

I carry a glock 23 95% of the time. And I'm pretty fluffy myself. Works great in the appendix carry position with a iwb holster.

I just picked up a Para Elite Carry in 45. 3inch, single stack. Other than the grip being a shade longer, it is about the same size as my XDS, 45. Im 5 11, 240, & carry the Xds in the holster that came with it. Worked good for me. I also have acrossbreed style IWB holster I use that works great.
I am impressed with the para so far.100 rounds through it with no hiccups, and is more accurate than I expected. not sure how I will carry it yet, I have a galco speed paddle that conceals pretty well, and a fobus paddle. FFR holsters in the classifieds is making a holster for it that I am going to try. He made it to myspecs, so should be great. He had grest reviews.

There are deals to be had on Paras if you're interested. I just picked up a Commander sized Para expert on gunbroker for $475, which is a good price. However, there's a mail in rebate for $100, which makes it a great deal for a quality 45.
