Are they single or double action?

There are a few double action 1911s but I don’t think limber makes one.

I had one in a 3" version. I liked it, but I got rid of it for 2 reasons. 1- I am used to a Glock, and I don't have the thumb safety discipline during draw. 2- I killed several pigs in a trap with it, and it took 2 mags worth of ammo. One shot was directly in the head forward facing, and the bullet zipped open the pigs skin, and did not penetrate the skull. I switched to Glock 10mm and all problems solved. But I did like the Kimber pistol.

Kimber has a great trigger. Nothing else about mine did I care for. I’m just not a 1911 fan though

First time I’ve heard so much negativity towards Kimber or 1911’s for that matter.

Chad, I’m not being a smarty pants here but was it the ammo or the 3” barrel holding it back?

Honestly I’m surprised that’s the first negative you’ve heard about kimber. Their reputation has become less than stellar regarding reliability.

I’m with you on the 3”. I think a 45 acp needs a 5” barrel to shine. But a 10mm will still smoke it.

Probably a little bit of both. The 230 HP I was shooting was running low 800 fps. So, there's not much energy there. I loved the pistol. But when I shot that pistol in idpa bug matches (back up gun), I often did not disengage the safety upon drawing. I was/am used to shooting a glock. With the low performance of the ammo in a 3" and the safety, it wasn't for me. But I really liked the pistol otherwise.

Also, I was shooting mainly 40 cal, so converting to 40 cal and 10mm with all the same bullets made loading ammo much easier.

I find mine to be a little heavy to carry concealed. I bought a Ruger LC9 to carry and love it. I’ve also had some feed issues with the Kimber. So far cleaning hasn’t helped. When the gun is running good it is a pleasure to shoot, and accurate

See, I’m a 1911 and G23 guy. Tell me why they don’t readily offer 1911’s in .40?

Go shoot the pee pee out of it. If you hate the pistol, then sell it. Personally, I love Kimber's. Never a hiccup out of mine.
