Inherited this Winchester xtr featherweight. Front sling stud looks like this and is loose. I can’t get it to come out or screw back in flush though. Just spins one way and doesn’t go deep enough the other. Thanks

Take the stock off and reseat that nut from the inside. Epoxy it in. Look over uncle mikes instructions.

If the hole is wallowed out, epoxy it in places at the same time

PO probably took it apart to refinish and forgot how it goes back together.

Then it was one of these two people: SOMEBODY or NOBODY.

Well my grandpa owned It from new and I can promise you he’s never taken It apart or refinished It. I’m thinking It got yanked out.
