DPMS Oracle 5.56mm
Does anyone here own one, and if so, what's your overall review on it?
I was considering getting an AR semiauto rifle, but just for recreation at the gun range.

They run and are decently accurate.
If you just want a semi for a range toy, buy a 10/22 or 15-22.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

My sons have the DPMS Sporticals (no forward assist or dust cover). These guns live on our Mule and run dirty (not one FTF in years) but we have never had any problems with them. The boys use them as their pig popping guns and they hunt hard with them. As a range toy you shouldn't have any problems.

If you put BUIS on an Oracle you have to buy a tall front sight. A standard height front sight is too low.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

For the money, I would consider a Smith & Wesson sport or sport II before DPMS.

I had a Sportical and it was reliable and surprisingly accurate. Like has been mentioned buy an aftermarket trigger but that goes for pretty much all ARs with milspec.

I just ordered one for $379 minus $50 for the rebate, free shipping. Looking forward to shooting it.

Cheap, fairly reliable, decent accuracy and good way to get your feet wet in the AR world. Two warnings: My buddy has one he carries around in his SXS. It doesn't like russian/chinese laquer coated steel ammo and will jam with them - all the brass ammo he has ran thru it runs like butter. They are tinkertoys for adults and you can change it to your hearts content up to the limit of your wallet (and well past that for some...)! As for the trigger, it's a Mil-Std trigger - cheap and reliable. Everybody uses same blueprints to make 'em so there is no design budget required! There are quite a few web sites that show you how to make your Mil-Std trigger quite amazing but be careful you don't go too crazy here as it can become dangerous.

Our guns will digest any ammo fed to them. Unlike my Colt who is a finicky eater.
