I received a reply from their Tech Support/Customer Service lead. He is sending me a pick up call tag for me to send the "bad" cartridge back for inspection to see what happened and "get new ammo to me" not sure I want any.

I'll post up what the final outcome is.

How many rounds have you fired of this ammo before? and other issues?

Did you ever thoroughly clean the slide on your XDM and try that Barnes ammo again? Just curious as that completely solved the problem with my dads XDM when it experienced the same thing with several brands of ammo. I'd be interested to see if there was a difference with your pistol after it was thoroughly cleaned and re-lubed.
