I am trying to fix up my fathers Remington sportsman 78 in 30-06. The rifle is not grouping well and I want to replace the optics on it. I removed the scope and rings and found that someone had drilled out a pair of bases that didn't fit the gun. Not sure which bases fit this gun. Looked at a couple of manufacture sites and didn't find this gun listed. Anyone know if they are the same as the 700's or any recommendations? Thanks
