My client spent most of the day behind a .300 Win Mag shooting Hornady ammo, loaded with a 200 gr ELD-X. The published BC and velocity (2850 fps MV) worked perfect on every target out to 800 yards. Not a discrepancy one, and that is so rare, I've never seen it one single time! That is the BC and MV being exactly right, printed on the box.

Then he got out his .22-250 shooting 50 gr V-Max. Dismal BC but coming out at a published 4000 fps MV. The corrections worked great at 300 to 600 yards. I didn't let him shoot steel with it closer than that, because it will dimple it, due to extreme velocity. It was still making consistent elevation, so I said let's keep going. 700 yards needed 4 MOA of wind hold, despite a barely 2-3 mph wind. I only remember the numbers for 800 yards. 17 1/2 MOA of elevation and 5 MOA of wind. eek

Made cute little .224" marks on steel, like the bullet didn't even expand and shatter that far out. It won't surprise me if I find whole bullets on the ground just below the targets 600-800. grin

Yet 99.97% of the population can't do it.

Guess what he said on the phone the day he called me.

"Wish I would have read your comparison, on your website, of MOA vs Mil before I bought MOA scopes."
