A Ruger MK III Target Hunter with a six inch barrel? I've read lately that the MK III's aren't worth near as much since the MK IVs came out but when I've searched online for the MK IIIs they are still be priced at $550+ so how much would one be worth to you?

All I know is they are nice guns but a royal pain to disassemble.

I paid $425 new for the MK III target US Olympics Shooting Team special edition with ergonomic rosewood trips, a US Shooting Team logo, a serial number that started with "RIO", etc.

$500+ for a used one is insane.

I picked up a Target Hunter for 380 last week and I'm happy with it. I've wanted one for a couple of years but haven't been willing to spend what they were going for before the IVs came out. It did require a good cleaning but otherwise it's A OK. I've shot it twice putting about fifty rounds down range and it shoots good but not as good as my two target slab sides....but then the III has a red dot and the II has a scope on it. I'm waiting for the base to come in and will start with a red dot first, if it performs the way I want it to it will stay on it, if not then I'll put the scope on it.

As for all the complaints about the IIIs, I've seen quite a few guys grousing about how much they hate them on a couple of other sites. If someone wants to sell one or two for $200-250 I'm certainly interested....I mean that's what a lot of guys seem to think they're worth....so I'm definitely interested in checking them out at that price.

^^THIS^^

Spend 5 minutes watching YouTube videos and it's easy.
Try it without instruction and you will still be trying to put it back together.
