Anybody have one? I read they had jamming issues years back but wondering if that's been fixed.
Any recommendations for a semi-auto shotty in the same price range ($600 street price) that's better? Thanks.

Are you looking for tactical shotgun or hunting shotgun?

I have the Stoeger M2000 Tactical as home defense shotty and I have a Stoeger M3000 for hunting. Both inertial driven and you can get the M3500 if shooting 3 1/2" shells is your thing.

Both have run flawlessly even with light target loads.

The 18.5" home defense style.

Not sure but im sure theres one out there. Or do what my father did and just buy an 1187 and add a magazine tube extension for like $30-40.

Then buy the mag extension and if youd like, I believe midway has 18.5" barrels for $160 so you'd be $650 into a home defense gun that you can always switch parts real quick and take hunting.

I have one, it will shoot any ammo at any time. Perfect to carry around the lease. Decently accurate ith cheap slugs and killer with buck. Never had any jamming issues at all. Never clean it earthier. Still has mud on/in it and it shoots all day. I have had mine for 5-6 years or so. So not sure about the new ones, if there is any change

Bought the Mossberg 500 kit, comes with 28" vent rib barrel and 18", pistol grip and regular stock. Buds for under $400.
Bought mine back in 1982 from Service Merchandise, works with everything I've put through it.

A neighbor had the 930 JM Pro which is likely the same action. He had it for about two years and it ran perfectly for him - he liked it a lot. He bought it at Academy in Katy for $600, I guess about four years ago? He has since moved, but I heard that he sold it because of a serious and permanent shoulder injury.

I know that he had a dislike of low brass bird shot, so I doubt if he ever used it in that gun. I shot it once, just to see the damage I could do by dumping 9 or 10 rounds of mixed 00 buck/slugs downrange in a hurry. That thing was downright fun to shoot! Now that you got me thinking about it, I may to look around for one.

Thanks for your input. I decided to put my Winny 1300 Defender pump up for sale and bought a 930 SPX. It should arrive in a few days. I've read they don't like birdshot but I have zero intentions of using any in it. I really like my 1300 but got the itch for a semi-auto. I hope I don't regret losing the dependability of the pump for a semi. Thanks!
