grandson is getting to be a very good shot, he is interested in .22 match rifle. ?, what rifle in the $1000. range? I started him with a CZ, I think he needs an upgrade.

Hummm, Colt, when you say Match Rifle, do you want a bolt gun? Heavy gun or a very accurate rifle he can hold easily? 1 hole groups at 50 yards?

I have a Remington M37 that was used in Navy intraship matches. It may not be what you have in mind and I wouldn't recommend it for hunting squirrels, but it does fit your limited description.

I'd go with an Anshutz 64 MPR. Do some reading on it.
