What do you guys use? Every model I see online seems to have hit or miss reviews. Dont want to be fumbling with a fingerprint scanner or key at the worst possible time but also dont want a situation where a kid has easy access. Based on the reviews im contemplating just going with a concealment wall piece.

Cannon velocityvault or gunvault micro vault have been working good for me.

I started with a Hornady RAPiD Safe. It was too loud. I returned it.



Ended with a GunVault SpeedVault SV500. Quieter. Faster. The key pad indicator can be turned off.

What sold me was how it mounts. It will not hold large(r) handguns but it will hold most.

Yep that's the one I have and I have a gun vault micro I believe both good stuff.

Sentry from Home Depot. Been excellent. Only complaint I have is that it opens pretty slowly if you haven't opened it in awhile. If you've opened it recently, it pops open pretty quick.

You think it would hold a G22 with TLR1?

I do not. A TRP and a TLR1 doesn't fit for sure. A 5" 1911 will though.

I think you could get a Glock with tlr in there just might have to cut the foam. It's made for the slide to just slide in the hole.

I think DeerSlayer31 is right. Just now, I was able to get a 1911+TLR1 in the safe. You'd need to cut that foam for sure.

And you guys havent had any issues opening your safe? Looking at reviews for Liberty, Gunvault, Sentry, Liberty and none of them are 100%. Ive been looking at that specific Gun Vault and almost bought one on Amazon since it has a 4.3 rating but started reading the 1 and 2 star reviews and they're pretty concerning...fingerprint recognition not working, fingerprint recognition working for all persons, battery life, and worst of all...people that had theirs freeze up on them and wont open. About 18% of Amazon reviews on the Gun Vault are 3 or lower, 9% being a 1 star. Thats too big a risk for me. Thats like saying your CHL holster only allows you to draw your gun 91% of the time. I usually take Amazon reviews with a grain of salt bc they're usually skewed higher, but these reviews also show up elsewhere.

All these safes have similar reviews....worked great at first, then stopped working altogether.

I've have had my gunvault non bio metric for about three years now and it has never not opened. I've had to change the batteries once but it gave me a low battery notification well in advance. The velocity vault above I've only had for about a month or two and same, have had zero issues. There is a place in Garland I paid $50 for the velocity vault and they have the gunvault with biometric for $69. I'm just alittle scared of the biometric that's why I chose the velocity vault. I couldn't pass up that deal for $50.

Wife uses Liberty HDX-150. Been happy with it after setup.
Just the 2 of us are programmed in but programmed 3 times each
for better recognition. Practicing precise finger position
helps as I believe some people can miss the mark so it speak.
Also helps keep memory updated. According to manual use of the
AC adapter for power will reduce recognition time. Haven't
had a problem but will be picking one up just to keep charged
at all times. Key access is always an option if needed or wanted.
