Looking to get a Boyds laminate for my Savage 11 that's been cut down to 18" and threaded. Most of their stocks say they're good for barrels 21"-26". Will I have any issues with an 18" barrel?

No. what they are talking about is the factory contour of 21-26 inch barrels. If your barrel was a factory that's Ben cut you will be fine. If it's aftermarket you may have to open up the barrel channel. Pay the extra money and get it with the pillars already installed and then glass bed it when you get it

I would also recommend a bedding after purchase. It will greatly reduce your head aches and save you ammo if there is any stock issues with it unbedded. They are great stocks, but I have seen several issues with accuracy and consistency used as a simple drop in with it unbedded. You can try it first and see. But it will shoot better bedded. It's cheap insurance, IMO.

Agree with bedding the stock, it might shoot just fine without that step but I have never seen a rifle that bedding the stock harmed accuracy and most cases it improved.
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch
