Hi all I'm new to the forums. I've got a mossberg 100 atr .270 that I've had since 2007ish. It hasn't been fired much it's whole life. I just drug it out over the weekend and sighted my scope and I've got about a 3 inch group. The trigger on this thing is HEAVY.It was made before the LBA trigger. Anybody know any trigger mods to lighten it up some? Thanks in advance.

I believe Timney makes a trigger for the ATR.
To see whether the trigger you have can be adjusted, I'd have to see the trigger. Can you shoot us a couple of pictures of the front and back of the trigger mechanism from an angle?
In the end though, you'll probably have to go for the Timney trigger if you want it to be really outstanding. I think they cost around a hundred bucks, something like that.
Kind regards, charlesb

I got a 100 ATR in 270 for my brother in 2006. I think that's way before the trigger was adjustable. Oddly enough, the trigger on his is fantastic and his rifle is a 1-inch rifle at 100 with Rem Core-Lokt 150 grain and a cheap Redhead scope. Haven't tried too much factory ammo, but I've always been impressed by the accuracy on that rifle.
Sorry I can't help you on the trigger replacement. I do believe Charles is correct that Timney makes a trigger for the ATR. But unless the gun has sentimental value, you're probably throwing your $100 away (I only mean that in the sense that you won't get more $ for the gun when you sell because it has an upgraded trigger). Mossberg resale isn't very good. You'd be much better off selling it for around $250 and using your $100 to buy a savage with accutrigger. You'll end up with a more accurate rifle that's also worth more. If you have more $ than that, another $100 will get you a Tikka T3 Lite.
