I have a Winny 1300 Defender with 18.5" bbl I use for home defense. Instead of buying another shotgun for dove hunting I'd like to just get a longer Barrel for this 1300. Do all length 1300 bbls mount to all 1300 actions? Thanks.

I would think as long as they're chambered the same that you should be good (I.e 2 3/4 for both barrels, or both 3").

All 1300 barrels will work. I have the same gun and had the same thought, but every barrel I found was so expensive I would have been better off just buying another shotgun. I haven't looked in a while so you may be able to find one cheaper now.

I've found good used for $160 & new for $205. I think I'll start an ad in the classifieds & see if anyone has one cheaper.

Field grade1300 barrels will not fit a defender. The defender has a longer magazine. Therefore, the barrel band/cap are further forward.

Well crap! How can I tell if ones a 'field grade' or not?

In all honesty you could find a 1300 used in pawn shops for about the same price.
