Although I'm not a gun collector, I make it a point to keep the box and all original paperwork whenever I purchase a new firearm. It's something I wish I had always done, not because I plan to sell any of them, but because I believe it helps them keep their nostalgia value, if not their true value for family who may own them after you're dead and gone. Also, the graphics on many firearm boxes can be very attractive.
How cool would it be to have the box that came with that old shotgun your grandfather bought 60 years ago, the one with branding and logos the manufacturer stopped using 40 years ago. Or what about the box that came with your first deer rifle that you got for Christmas when you were a kid.

I keep all rifle boxes and pistol hard cases. I have a Colt Scout .22 revolver my g'dad gave me in his will. It was purchased in the 50's and he kept it in the original box, so I have that as well.

I keep them. I have found that on a re-sale, being able to include the original box is sometimes worth a few bucks!

I do on my high end guns but normally I toss them. If I keep a bunch of boxes my wife will know I bought a new gun.

No, I don't keep any boxes from the guns I buy unless I think I'll sell them quickly.
It would also make no difference to me if I had the box to every firearm I've inherited from family. If they had come with a bunch of old boxes I'd have thrown the boxes away or sold them if they had any value.

Yes, I keep them. If I decide to sell I think it helps, IMO.

I throw them all, no sense in keeping cardboard to me at least. I don't sell anything I buy though, so who knows.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Thinking back this has also helped me with a stolen gun before too. I got a Glock in a trade and hadn't put the serial number in my notes yet and it was stolen. Wouldn't have known the serial had it not been for me keeping my box. Gun was never recovered, but at least there is a police report with the correct serial number.

I keep them for about the five minutes it takes me to stop looking at the gun and walk to the trash can. I don't collect junk and a gun is a tool. I don't like having my boxes junk up my house or even attic, just like I wouldn't keep the box for a drill or the price tag off a hammer. None of my guns are for sale or ever will be. Don't see the point in keeping a piece of cardboard and styrofoam.
