Thinking about snagging a 22 supressor before the 41f stuff comes into effect. Right now my dealer has AAC pilot 2's and gemtec gm-22's in stock. Anybody have any experience with either one? I've got a Smith and Wesson m&p 22 that would most likely wear it most of the time but would most likely spend some time on a 22 rifle as well. Can't really see myself ever putting it on a 22 mag or a 17hmr.

I'm not familiar with either model. I personally own and shoot a SWR Spectre II and think it the greatest thing since sliced bread. My .22 bolt action is significantly quieter than my springer air rifles. You won't regret the decision. I also agree that suppressing a .22 Mag or .17 HMR is less desirable.

Specter II is probably the most popular, and arguably the best, .22 can out there. I would look around instead of limiting yourself to just the two choices that one particular dealer has in stock.

I have a Spectre II and I love shooting both the bolt action and the M&P 22. It's super quiet on both. No experience on the 2 you mentioned.

I have a SS Sparrow and an AAC Element. The Element is quieter and thinner than the Sparrow with no FRP. I wish I had just bought two Elements. It is good for .22 LR, .22 Mag, .17 HMR, and 5.7....make sure you get one that you can use on multiple calibers. I have used mine on my .17 HMR and .22 Mag rifles a lot and it makes a big difference. If I was buying another I'd get the Element 2.

A 22 bolt action shooting subsonics with a supressor will make you chuckle outloud!
I have a Gemtech Mist integrally suppressed 22 barrel for my 22 at the Silencer Shop waiting on clearance. That is stupid fun as well.

As the shooter using a bolt action and the Spectre II, all you hear is the firing pin and then the bullet hit the target. It's THAT quiet and fun to shoot. Whichever 22 suppressor you choose, you will love it.

I have a Sparrow, a Spectre II, a Checkmate, and a YHM Stinger. I probably carry the Stinger in the field more often than the others.

I've got the GM22 and it's a nice can. However, with it being a monocore, it can be a pain to break apart after shooting a lot of rounds. They made it so a 1/4" socket drive fits in the end to aid in disassembly. I've got a Dead Air Mask in jail right now. I got a great deal on the GM22 when I bought it awhile back
