Shooting rifles left handed, it is always a challenge to find something on the market that isn't a lever gun.
I do own a Savage 11 in 308 with a 4-16 vortex and a S&W MP 10 with a 1-6.5 Bushnell Elite; but I want a simple iron sight rifle in .308. There just aren't many options available to lefties.
I've got my eye on one and was just wondering if anyone who owns the Ruger Scout wishes they didn't, and for what reasons.

I'm a lefty. Friend has one. I shot it and thought it was close to worthless. Wouldn't have one. If iron sight is your thing I'd think M1 and not look back. Of course the price diff is considerable.

I have one and always heard that they didn't shoot straight, so I went and shot it the first time, shot it with Remington 150g core locks and dang near had touching holes..... Put my suppressor on it and never thought twice about selling it. I put a VX3 on it, it's easy to carry and easy to put up to your eye for a quick shot. Just my 2cents.

There's no big mystery in installing iron sights. Any competent gunsmith can drill and tap a few holes, as required.
I'd pick out the wrong-handed rifle that feels best at your shoulder, then have the irons of your choice installed.
It's not likely to cost more than a scope and its mounts, unless you pick out some awfully expensive iron sights.
Kind regards, charlesb

Off subject, ever think about the Mossberg MVP in 308, looks a lot like the Ruger but cost is lower. I have one shots good for me. Never tried anything past the 150 mark. Mine has a heavy barrel no thread for flash.

I enjoy mine every time I pull the trigger. I added a EER scope with QD rings so I can shoot iron or optic at will.
