Guys,
This took a lot longer than I thought it would when I submitted everything but I finally got it. Now comes the part about figuring out how to carry concealed comfortably. What I've pretty much figured out is I don't want to carry inside my jeans/slacks/shorts etc. The idea of having to go out and purchase a bunch of pants one to two sizes too big in order to carry doesn't work for me. So I went and bought a few T-shirts a size larger last night to see how that works.
So now comes the question. For those of you who carry outside your slacks what type of holster do you use? Does your handgun ever poke/prod you while sitting? Driving? Etc.
Also do you carry a full size? 1911? Midsize? Glock? Or something small? Derringer?
Thanks,
Mel

Did you pick up some sort of insurance? That should be a priority. I have winter and summer weapons. Winter XDS with spare mags...summer Bond derringer or Ruger 9 with one will fit into a cargo pocket. I agree inside WB is uncomfortable. I got a paddle holster for my XDS and a small Academy leather holster for my Ruger. The Bond doesn't need one for pocket carry.

There are a couple of recent threads on CC. Look at them and see if they're helpful.

You will go thru a LOT of holsters (and honestly guns) until you find what works for you. And even that changes based upon where you need to go/style of dress.
Start experimenting.

I CC a Sig P226 and a Glock 19. The sig rides in either a IWB or a Pasdle holster. I prefer the IWB for it, and I never have to buy pants one size bigger, you'd be amazed how easy it slides in to position with pants buttoned. Glock currently rides in a paddle holster until my IWB arrives

I'm using a custom Kydex holster for my Glock 19. Don't go cheap on a holster, and by all means buy a good gun belt. You may have a little sticker shock, but this falls into the category of but once cry once. With a good carry rig you will have very few issues with pinching or prodding.

I carry an HK45C IWB at 4 or 5 oclock and I find it extremely comfortable and rarely even know its there.
I tried carrying out of the waist band but I cant do it unless I have a jacket on and no more jackets till November. Im too big to wear a shirt out and conceal a gun but no problem IWB with a shirt tucked out
I didnt buy any thing different as far as clothes. Everything fit with the gun already.
I just bought a cheap holster from High noon holsters to see if I liked it. I am going to buy a nice IWB holster from them next time since I know I like IWB all day long.

Glock 22 in safariland paddle holster. Throw my shirt over it. Bulges the shirt out a little but no one pays any attention.

G19 in a Safariland 7TS holster OWB. Shirt tail out and no problem.
G43 in a StealthGear Onyx IWB for more discreet carry when needed.
As mentioned, you will go through some holsters till you find what fits you. I will say that the belt you choose makes a huge difference whatever holster/gun combo you go with. I wear a Wilderness original instructor belt, 1.5" with the 5 stitch stiffness. It holds everything right where you want it.

S&W M&P Shield 9mm in a kydex and horsehide IWB. So comfortable to carry. I carry it everyday and everywhere I am able. Works with anything and everything as far as clothing. I can wear shirt tucked or untucked. In slacks, jeans, or gym shorts.
If you haven't decided on a gun the Shield and M&P compact are great guns for CCW, as are the glock 43, 26, and 19. I just prefer the ergonomics of the M&P series. So much more comfortable to shoot for me, and actually come with usable sights.

How many days from when you submitted everything did it take to get the license in the mail? I submitted on 1/8/16 and got it Monday of this week. Guys, Thanks for all the responses! It appears it'll take some time to find the right holster. Sure wish I could try'm before I buy'm.

The down side is it teaches people to call there rep Well, they are there to support us and if this is the worst it gets for them then so what. My state reps assistant said there's a real issue with getting the approvals and that it needs to be addressed. He certainly didn't seem to mind and I didn't mind asking for his help.

Guys,
After trying a few holsters I bought Desantis thumb break holster for my 1911. I tried a couple iwb holsters and they just don't work for me. I'd like to get the same for my CZ Rami but they don't make them for it so I'm going to call to see what it'd cost for them to make me one.
