I bought a new Mossberg bolt rifle in 7mm/08 for under $200 . Painted the stock in the " pink girl " camo pattern . It was for a friend's daughter to go deer hunting with the wife and I . The rifle shot ok . First three shoots would do about 45 SOA , then the group would open up by 3x . But I figured for a hunting rifle that did not matter much . The Girl got her first deer with it , a nice 8 pt with one shot at 165 yds . Sorry , I do not post photos on the internet . You never know who will see them or what they will do with them . A local guy liked to brag about his collection with photos on the internet , one photo had his plate in it . Someone broke in and now he has a smaller collection .

I'm guessing it's a Mossberg Patriot. Those are much better rifles than the price suggests, according to reports that I have read.
I'm looking at them for a spare/loaner, or knockabout gun. I've seriously considered buying one in 30-06.

The patriot is a much better rifle that it's price point. It's probably one of the best sub $500 rifles on the market. Based off what you paid I would have to guess it's a atr100 Though you could stumble on a plastic stock patriot for that much. I own an atr in 30-06 and its not a bad beater gun. I've made heart shots out to 150 yards. I've noticed with mine the shot pattern opens up when the barrel starts to get hot. I have absolutely no problem using it for one or two shots with confidence.
But I am in the market for a patriot in either 7-08 or 25-06 with a wood stock because of the quality of the rifle for its price.

Is the barrel on the patriot big enough to thread for a suppressor...I've been looking at them, just didn't know if they would be worth trying.

Yes it was an ATR 100 . I have always built all of my hunting rifles , but for that money I could not even buy a barrel blank and a piece of wood for the stock . Plus it was in a good girl's caliber , and fit her 5 foot frame .

I got a 'cheap' .243 Mossberg @ Academy new under $200 a few years ago as something for the kids to shoot. - amazingly accurate once I found ammo it liked! Needed just a lil-bit of trigger work (easy). - definitely a shooter & a keeper! Now doubles as my backup&varmint-rifle and range/practice gun!!
