I have a 700P and want to replace the factory HS stock. I have a McMillan Rem Hunter that I think works well with larger barrels but I see alot of pics of people using these other stocks. The Remington Hunter, Manners MCS-T, and these are the ones I was considering. It will mostly be used out of stands/range, with the occasional prone shot. What do you guys like about the vertical grip and what are the advantages?

The game scout is very popular but my hand doesn't like it. That plain Remington Hunter feels pretty good but doesn't have the vertical drop. Try to find and feel a McMillan thumbhole, it is a happy medium. You can do a couple different holds on it

I have a game scout on my 6.5 and a Manners EH1 on my 280AI I really like the feel of the manners better it's hard for me to get a good cheek weld on the GS. I have added a stock pad and it has helped.

I own a game scout on my 300 win hunting rifle and really like it. I have no issues with cheek weld. The only thing i would caution about the GS would be the palm swell. It is fairly large and can cause a grip problem if you use med or smaller gloves. Just my opinion
