Did you like it??? I was at Cabelas today, they had a used Savage 17 wsm with the stainless barrel for $380. I was very close to picking it up.

The ammo is rather expensive, 18-20 dollars a box. I heard Hornady is starting to make ammo for it though which is awesome.

A friend of mine had a savage. It was pretty good except the scope he bought for it sucked. I think the ammo he was buying was like 16-17$ a box so not too bad. Pretty decent little rifle.

I saw the semiauto Savage in a store last week. It was a pretty ugly beast. Ill have to take a look at the Ruger. I would really like to try out the 17 WSM. I really like my 17HMR, but would be nice to have a little more power.

The ultimate 17WSM is the Winchester 1885 low-wall. Pricey, yes, but also knock-dead beautiful and very accurate.

Kind regards, charlesb
