Purchased a while back to carry while bowhunting. Like the gun, is it worth it to magnum port? Just not much fun to shoot. Realize that I can shoot 44 special through it, but enjoy carrying d h during rifle season. Thanks in advance.

Personally, I'm a big fan of magnaporting, but it's important to understand that it reduces muzzle jump rather than recoil. It greatly reduces the perception of recoil. It also works best on full power loads.

Aftermarket grips are usually ugly as sin but will make that pistol pleasant to shoot.
Is it the trigger guard getting your finger? My vaquero would beat me to death with the trigger guard but my super RedHawk was pleasant even with much hotter loads. I feel most of this was grip design.

I agree with wp75169 about grip design.
