 How is the standard size S&W M&P 40 cal.?

How does it shoot compared to the M&P 40 Shield or Springfield 40 XD? What one of those 3 would you get for hunting safety/open carry?

I never have shot a M&P 40, but I had one in 9mm, and I also had an XD in 9mm. I preferred the XD, mainly for the trigger and grip. I think one will preform just as well as another.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

The full size mp40 is an excellent pistol once you polish the trigger up a bit. Shoots much nicer than the compacts, in my opinion.

I went back and forth on the M&P and the XD-M for a while, finally bought the M&P in 9mm. The final kicker was that I was able to order one with a thumb safety, which the XD was not available with. I'm not sure I made the right decision and if I had to do it over again I'd likely buy the XD(M) instead, or just bought the SW9DVE and put a trigger in it.

I love my m&p40 pro 4.25 all i have done is stipple the front strap and install the apex polymer trigger ( just the trigger its self nothing else) I love it smooth shooting for a polymer framed 40 as well compared to others I ahve shot.
