Initial thoughts? I wouldn't have that expensive of a barrel on a rifle I intended on shooting often. If they are going on speciality rifles, that will hardly be shot, or in a cartridge that has great barrel life, I could see there worth.

Match barrels are consumable items, and are changed out in regular intervals.

But, who am I to judge? If they make a barrel that interests you, and you have the money, I say go for it. Let us know how they shoot.

I had to order them so it will be a while. Got a pretty good deal on then so they were not a lot more than a regular match grade barrel. They are supposed to have a longer life so i guess we will see.

Do you know who makes the blank for them? Cut rifled, button pulled? Just curious.

They make them their selves. About 2 years ago they bought out a custom barrel maker. Dont remember who but they produced top end barrels. I believe they are cut rifled.

I know the early versions had a few problems but the newer ones are starting to pop up (and win) at matches across the us. Have been wanting to try them for a while so when he offered me 35% off i bought a couple. Cant wait to see how they do.

Not a good match barrel because of heat. But an awesome hunting barrel and the new one seem to be very accurate. My gunsmith had a few laying around last time I was out there.

Judd,

I read where they have supposedly addressed that and that their new barrels dissipate heat extremely well and last longer. Perhaps in the future if there is more info and I'm in the market for a new barrel and I can get at least a 35% discount I'd be willing to try one...

I'd try it with the discount price. Otherwise, too expensive for me.

I'm dying to put one of these on 6.5x284, I'm just not completely ready to put down that much on a bbl yet.
