I know this topic has been addressed before so I apologize in advance.
I want to ship my rifle to CDI Precision in Florida. What would be the proper procedure for shipping it 100% legally?

I am pretty sure you can ship it to them without any issue. All a matter of shipping it USPS, UPS or FedEx, they have different rules but as far as the ATF goes I don't think there are any regulations other than I think it the destination has to be an FFL.
Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

Ship it to them, Ask for copy of their FFL, Fed ex may ask you to show it. I would include copy of DL you can mark out your number if you want but it really helps if a customer has a DL that shows address and ID, Just makes it really nice for the guy on the other end.. speaking from experience

1- You will need a copy of their FFL to include inside the shipment. CDI should provide that. If you seal up the rifle prior to shipment, print 2 copies- 1 for inside and one to show at time of shipment. DL is not needed, but is good for the FFL on the other end.
shipping - USPS will accept shipment at any location, they are just a little slower. A UPS store will NOT ship it if you pay them on-site. If you go UPS, you will need to either: - go to the UPS hub and pay them to ship it (best option). If it's a declared value over $1K, then print out the $1K + declared value signature form, and have whoever you drop it off with sign for it. (This declared value form is important if lost or stolen) - pre-print the shipping label online and drop it off at a UPS store (they will accept a drop off shipment). If it's declared value over $1K, then print out the $1K + declared value signature form, and have whoever you drop it off with sign for it.
FedEx will require overnight air shipment, which will be very expensive. FedEx sucks for firearm shipments.
