I am thinking a coat of Killz or other primer over the fresh drywall would be a good idea before finish painting. Is this best practice or am I just making more work for myself? Thanks.

Need to use a pva primer it is specifically for new drywall and texture....Lowes or home depot will have it but sherwin Williams will be a little thicker...That's what we use on our new houses..
