I have had this one for about 8 years. Pretty versatile.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

I've had a Fox Gun Vise for about 15 years. It is mounted on a floor pedestal in the middle of my reloading room. I purchased the titling, padded jaws. I couldn't live without it! In the picture, it is in the lower right hand corner with a white trash can in front of it.

For cleaning weapons in my garage, I use a bench mounted vise with a set of soft jaws. Scope mounting and bore sighting , a bipod and rigid rear bag. That's a sweet room you have there, Ranch Dog.

Thanks guys! It is my favorite place indoors. It has large bathroom with a large walk in shower. I had a bed along one wall in case I needed a nap, but took it out to put in another bench. I used the bed during the hunting season, much easier to roll out of a single and head out into the pasture than not because I curled back up with momma!

I use a VersaCradle in my shop. I also use a vise that they sell at Woodcraft that can be turned on it’s sides. My buddy who is also a Gunsmith uses this same vise. Then a set of soft jaws and a bunch of different other sets. I have the shooting rest base for the VersaCradle so I can take it with me and lock it down with the clamp for it. I scored all their Blue Mags used for handguns when they were clearancing them. I used it during Gunsmithing School to build two 1911’s. So it’s definitely sturdy enough to get a job done. It locks solid in all directions. Definitely worth the money! https://www.berrysmfg.com/item/versacradlehttps://www.woodcraft.com/products/woodriver-universal-vise

I have a huge as in about 50 pound machinist vise that is not mounted so I can move it around as needed, and an old Wilton vise. But mostly I use a homemade wood cradle.

I have a Tipton Best Gun Vise too. It’s great for cleaning and ok for scope mounting. I would want something else for any real gunsmithing.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

I use one I made from scrap wood and an old clamp. It works dang good for scope mounting and cleaning and you can’t beat the price I paid for it

Same here. The Tipton is cheap plastic junk. It won’t even hold a rifle steady enough to level a scope.

As some of the other replies, I use 5 inch vise, with plastic jaw protectors with V grooves, mounted on a sturdy bench on casters. It holds my rifles rock solid and I can roll it around the garage to bore sight on something across the street and level action and plumb the reticle. Works great for cleaning too.
